A porch typically costs £3,000–£8,000 in 2026 depending on uPVC versus brick, size and groundwork. A porch is exempt from planning permission and building regulations when the floor area is 3m² or less, it is more than 2m from a boundary fronting a highway, and it is no more than 3m high — go beyond any one of those three limits and approval is usually needed. uPVC porches are the cheapest type, while brick porches cost more but tend to add the most kerb appeal.
